Spring has sprung! As we move towards warmer weather, it’s important to be ready for the season. We have put together a spring cleaning checklist to help you keep your church property well-maintained. Remember, these tasks can be carried out individually or another great approach is to organize a volunteer spring cleaning day. Regardless of the methods you use to take care of your cleaning, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your church is in good working order.

Outdoor/Exterior Cleaning

Power wash walkways, patios, and exterior buildings/surfaces
Clean gutters and downspouts
Clean/sweep up any debris that has accumulated on your property
Clean/repair windows and screens
Replace any caulking that has pulled away from window and door seals
Check exterior lighting and repair or replace burnt-out bulbs
Touch up exterior paint as needed
Tend to church landscaping
Repair cracked or damaged parking lots or walkways

Indoor Cleaning

Restock your cleaning supply inventory
Deep clean bathrooms
Clean windows, doors, floors, carpets, furniture, walls, light fixtures, wall hangings, blinds, curtains, and any other areas that require attention
Sanitize door handles and light switches
Organize and declutter public rooms and areas
Repair broken furniture or equipment
Check basement areas for water and attend to it as necessary
Sanitize children’s classrooms and nurseries including toys, desks, cabinets, etc.
